Your wedding photographs do not stop at the photograph!
Selecting the right album is just like accessorizing when you choose your
gown, purse and shoes ... you want them to all match! Working with your
photographs is the same thing Matching your style with the albums and
frames is just as important.
I offer several ways you can place your photographs in an album in either a
traditional or modern way. Traditionally, your photographs are placed in an
art album in either 4x5, 5x7 or 8x10 to 10x10, 12x12, 10x15 sizes. The
company I
use for this service is Zookbinders.
For the modern approach, we take your images and place them in a hard-bound
book which that is called an Art Book or Coffee Table book. These books
come in various sizes from 3x3 inches to 12x12 or larger depending upon your
wishes. The difference in these books over the traditional album is that
the art book uses the full size of the page to show your photograph. You
are no longer limited to the 8x10 size photograph, but rather to the full 24x12
inches of the book.
There are two different styles of art books: matted and non-matted.
Matted books offer an additional layer of protection to your photographs as the
photographs do not touch, therefore, they can't rub. The other books offer seamless centers
and non-seamless. The seamless ones have the photograph continue through
the center of the book. It is possible that over time this will wear
through the photograph. Non-seamless photographs are cut about 1/16" to
1/32" inch short of the seam which leaves a very small blank spot between the
photographs. This method will guarantee there is no wear at the center and you'll find it is unnoticeable!
